  12. My 28.8K modem, linking my computer to ISP by SLIP, works fine 
  13. when I play the netscape, up to three hours, between 6-10PM. 
  14. But 7 out of 10 times the links were broken when I left it alone from 11PM-6AM
  15. to transfer a bundle of jpeg image files(about 70K each, 50M totally).
  16. The transfer rate is about 3.1K/s for one file. The links were disconnected
  17. after about 30M of files were downloaded.

  19. My former 14.4K modem works very reliable, although the transfer rate is only
  20. 1.6K/s.

  22. Do you have any ideas to fix this problem, or  is it normal to the higher speed 
  23. modem?
