- My 28.8K modem, linking my computer to ISP by SLIP, works fine
- when I play the netscape, up to three hours, between 6-10PM.
- But 7 out of 10 times the links were broken when I left it alone from 11PM-6AM
- to transfer a bundle of jpeg image files(about 70K each, 50M totally).
- The transfer rate is about 3.1K/s for one file. The links were disconnected
- after about 30M of files were downloaded.
-
- My former 14.4K modem works very reliable, although the transfer rate is only
- 1.6K/s.
-
- Do you have any ideas to fix this problem, or is it normal to the higher speed
- modem?
-
- Please send your help to my e-mail address.
- Thanks.
